In the demise of Late Shri Bhairo Singh Shekhawat the country has lost a very eminent statesman and very senior politicians and an able administrator. He served the state of Rajasthan as Chief Minister for three terms. As Vice President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha he never allowed his political or ideological commitments to come in the way of conducting the proceedings of house with a great degree of impartiality. In his death the country has lost a great son and the void created would be extremely difficult to be filed up.
I first met him in 1977 at the residence of Late Shri Chandrashekhar Singh, Ex P.M. Thereafter I along with him participated in several meetings at the residence of Late Chandrashekhar Singh. I felt that he had great degree of compassion for the common mass and the interest of poor masses were close to heart.
