The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) demands an inquiry by the CBI into the mysterious circumstances leading to the murder of the Indian Justice Party candidate Bahadur Sonkar, whose dead body was found hanging on a tree in wee hours of April 13, 2009. Shri Sonkar was a candidate for Jaunpur Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh. While condemning his murder, the LJP views it seriously as a premeditated conspiracy by the goons of BSP led by Chief Minister of Uttar Pardesh and Party President Mayawati where even a semblance of the rule of law based governance appear to be a casualty.
All circumstantial evidences gathered, so far, point to the fact that the Justice Party candidate was murdered and his dead body was kept hanging on the tree to make it a case of suicide. Now it appears not to be a case of suicide, at all.
It may be recalled that the BSP led by Mayawati had come to power about two years before on the promises to end goonda raj in Utter Pradesh.
The LJP is also dismayed over yet another attack by BSP musclemen on other Justice Party candidate in the state on April 16, 2009 and urges all stakeholders in the on going General Elections 2009 to ensure security to the contesting Justice Party candidates in the interest of free and fare poll. |
