Delhi State Lok Janshakti Party organized a condolence meeting for the sudden demise of Comrade Jyoti Basu under the Presidentship of Shri Vinod Nagar, State President  on 18th January 2010 at 12, Janpath, New Delhi. Addressing the meeting, Lok Janshakti Party President, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan told that Jyoti Babu was the great leader of the country who fought for the cause of down trodden people in his life. He served the country and West Bengal without any lust and he even ignored the offer of Prime Ministership for the same reason. Shri Paswan told that there is lack of neither leaders nor policies in the country but there is lack of intention of the leaders. Jyoti Babu was the leader of commitment and clean image in the politics. Meeting was also addressed by the senior leaders i.e. Shri Abdul Khaliq, National Secretary General, LJP MLA and National Vice President, Shri Soiab Iqbal, National General Secretary, Shri R. K. Singh, MLC, Bihar, Shri Raju Yadav, National General Secretary, A. K. Vajpayee, Shri Rajan James, National General Secretary, Minority Cell National President, Shri Afzal Abbas, and Youth National President, Shri Sanjay Saraf.
