90th Birthday celebration of the great socialist leader & thinker late Shri Madhu Limya was held at 12 Janpath, New Delhi.  Speaking on the occasion Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, National President, Lok Janshakti Party stated that late Shri Madhu Limya was not only a prominent political leader but also a great socialist thinker.  Despite coming from a high caste he, during his entire life fought for the empowerment of the oppressed and backward classes with firm belief in – `Backward should get 60%’.  He was a stanch criticize of RSS and its’ ideology.  He strongly opposed the RSS ideology at Hinduraj, the language policy of RSS, the review of the Constitution, RSS opposition to National Flag and RSS philosophy of strong centre and centralization of power.

Shri Paswan stated that the country would counting getting inspired from the writings of late Shri Madhu Limay in order to bring the basic change in the country for the empowerment of the oppressed class of the country.

On the occasion of the May Day, ‘International Labour Day’ today a meeting was organized at 12 Janpath, New Delhi, in which office bearers of the partys’ labour wing, Janshakti Mazdoor Sabha from all over the country participated in the meeting. Addressing the workers Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, National President, Lok Janshakti Party stated that even after 62 years of the country’s independence 49 crores of workers in unorganized sector were leading a pathetic life of hunger, poverty, sickness, illiteracy & lack of basic human needs and living the life of almost destitute. The workers who were participating in massive projects was moving from place to place with their families living in the make shifts camps without any amenities or any without facilities for education of their children. Speaking on the high level of corruption in MNREGA and lack of employment opportunities in the rural areas Shri Paswan stated that labour should be assured 365 days of work and the full payment of their wages should be given to them. The ground reality today was that only pittance reached the hands of the starving labour and most of the money due to them was being misappropriated by the officers and Pancyats Samiti members. Shri Paswan said that from 1st June 2011 an all India agitation will launch starting from Jalanadhar (Punjab) to ensure that the MNREGA workers were given right dues & corruption was eliminated from the schemes. The party would launch agitation in Haryana, UP, Bihar & others States.

In the meeting the following resolutions were adopted.

1.        The worker of the un-organized sector should be given all facilities as were applicable to workers of organized sector.

2.        Right to home should be made a fundamental right and home should be made available to all the homeless people.

3.        All the 49 crore workers of un-organized sector should be covered under Smart Card Yojna and covered under health scheme.

4.        Rojgar sewaks working under MNREGA scheme should be given the authority to prepare the labour list, supervision of payment to the labour and protection of their rights as also their monthly salary enhance of Rs. 2500/- to Rs. 5000/-.
