Wiki leaks has at last exposed the real face of Hindutva and its votary BJP. The Hindu has published detailed conversation between BJP General Secretary Shri Arun Jaitley and American Embassy Official Robert Blake. Quoting the conversation Wiki leaks cable dated May 6, 2006, the Hindu says that Arun Jaitley told Blake that “Hindu nationalism was an opportunistic issue for the party”
It is evident from Jaitly’s conversation that the BJP has been using Hindutva for vote gathering purposes often mixing it with dangerous tactics. Jaitly, for instance, admits: “In India’s northeast, for instance, Hindutva plays well because of public anxiety about illegal migration of Muslim from Bangladesh” Jaitley further admits that “with the recent improvement in Indo - Pak relations, Hindu nationalism is now less resonant in New Delhi, but could change with another cross border terrorist attack, for instance, on the Indian Parliament”.
Lok Janshakti Party has always maintained that the Hindutva is no ideology. It is a dangerous and “opportunist” vote gathering tactics for the BJP. The LJP believe that the BJP has been using Hindutva to generate Muslim hatred among the Hindus to build a Hindu vote bank. One of the senior most BJP leaders, Shri Arun Jaitley has finally admitted the ‘opportunistic nature of Hindutva’.
But the dangerous part of Jaitley’s conversation suggests that the BJP would not mind using terror tactics for it’s opportunist politics. This part of Jaitley’s conversation takes an ominous turn in the light of Malegaon, Ajmer , Hyderabad and Samjhauta Express bomb blasts. All the principal actors in these bomb blasts were the foot soldiers of Hindutva. No wonder several BJP leaders have publicly defended terror accused like Pragya Thakur.
Arun Jaitley conversation with an American diplomat as published in The Hindu dated March 26, 2011, has give a new dimension to the entire issue of terrorism. The LJP suspects that the Hindutva votaries could have used terror tactics for political gains.
The LJP in this light demands that the entire issue of terrorism should be thoroughly probed and its nexus with political outfit must be examined. We want the UPA government to come clear with a white paper on terrorism. The LJP further demands that Shri Arun Jaitley should be summoned by the NIA and questioned regarding “opportunistic use of the Hindutva”
