Thousands of Lok Janshakti Party workers organized a massive demonstration at Jantar Mantar, demanding the implication of Ranganath Mishra commission's recommendation on the reservation for minorities in Government employment, higher education and various economic and developmental scheme funded by governments. Party leaders addressing the gathering demanded that report of the commission should be tabled in this session of the Parliament and recommendation implemented. Party leaders cautioned that any further delay in the matter would invite mass agitation and Gherao of the next budget session of Parliament.
Mr Ram Vilas Paswan addressing the gathering stated that commissions and their recommendations are not being taken seriously by governments. The Srikrishna commission, Librahans, Nanavati commission, Ranganath Mishra commission and many commissions report were gathering dust and no indication of implementation were visible. People have lost hope in getting any justice through such commissions.
He said in future only judicial inquiry by sitting judges with provisions of enforceability of recommendations should be done.
Agitators submitted a memorandum addressed to the Ho’nble Prime Minister in this regard.
