LOK JANSHAKTI PARTY was represented in the UPA Government by Shri Ram Vilas Paswan as a senior Cabinet Minister, in charge of the Ministries of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Ministry of Steel looking after economically important industrial sectors of fertilizers, chemicals, petro-chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
